A crucial meeting is currently underway involving Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers outside the Assembly chambers.
News360 Nigeria reports that the meeting, which precedes a plenary session originally scheduled for 1 p.m., has drawn significant attention, with key figures from the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC), including Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, also in attendance.
The state Attorney General, Lawal Pedro (SAN), is also part of the discussions, fueling speculation that the lingering leadership crisis in the House may be nearing resolution.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Mojisola Meranda is expected to tender her resignation today.
Speaker Obasa arrived at the venue around 1:30 p.m. and later joined a separate meeting with Meranda, Ojelabi, and the Attorney General, away from other lawmakers.
