
The Wife of Osun Gov., Erelu Ngozi Adeleke,has pledged a N1 million donation to house of Akoraye Vocational training in Modakeke.
Adeleke, made the pledge at the occasion of the 6th House of Akoraye Vocational Training Public Lecture, held at Modakeke Town Hall on Tuesday.
She commended the present government that brings new era of peace to Modakeke, adding that the number of apprentices met at House of Akoraye quite overwhelming.
The first lady commended the organisers of the programme,saying their efforts to partner government in progress and youths development cannot be over-emphasised, for government alone cannot do it.
She said that anytime she sees youth empowering, training, directing their counterparts to positive side, she’s always happy and try all possible best to support them.
Adeleke’s wife confirmed that youths of Modakeke are on the right parts for developing each other, appealed to those still roaming about to join their colleagues at entrepreneurship.
Erelu charged parents to train their children the way they should go, when they grew up will not depart from it, for youths are the future of Osun, Nigeria and leaders of today.
She admonished local, state and Federal Government to always take a positive steps to cater for youths, for failure to do so will surely face the wrath and the consequences.
Earlier, Comrade Temitope Sumbola, the Coordinator, House of Akoraye Vocational Training, explained that it’s not an Initiatives that train the youths.
Sumbola said that they have an empowerment programme that train the youths in tailoring, hair dressing, catering,make-up, bag making among others, saying that this marked the 6th edition.
He added that the motive behind the training is to eradicate poverty, joblessness and other immoralities among the youths, for an idle hand is a devils workshop.
“I observed that Nigeria economy is not palatable for the youths, while majority of them are facing financial constraints, which leading some to drug addict, smokers, ritualists, Yahoo boys among other atrocities.
“So this vocational skills can be a source of income for the youths in Nigeria, about 200 apprenticeship will be train, while 1,200 have been trained for the past years”. He stated.
The Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Toriola, applauded the first lady for counted it worthy to honour the invitation, duely for the love of the community.
Oba Toriola, who was represented by the Asipa of Modakeke, High Chief Folorunsho Awoyomi, lauded Gov. Ademola Adeleke for the growth and development of Modakeke during his tenure.
The Royal Father commended Comrade Sumbola for putting hands on deck with government to empower the youths and ensure their brighter future.
Also, Prof. Peter Olawuyi,the President, Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU), appreciated the convener of the programme in giving the best for the youths.
Olawuyi admonished the benefactors to utilise the opportunity given judicially and judiciously for the betterment of their future and charged others to make it as a point of duty to join the train before it’s too late.
Dignitaries from far and near graced the occasion, the Modakeke Chiefs, Iyaloja and Babaloja with market women and politicians present at the occasion.
Our Correspondent reports that House of Akoraye began in 2014, vocational training is under Akoraye initiative.
