BREAKING: Edo PDP is in ICU gasping for air

The governor of Edo state, Monday Okpebholo has said that the state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is currently gasping for air in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Slamming the leaders of the opposition party in the state for desperately seeking relevance, Okpebholo described the party as a broken vehicle abandoned by its driver.

In a statement issued by Fred Itua, the chief press secretary to the governor, Okpebholo said the opposition has become a shadow of itself – a factionalized, internally-battered and directionless entity.

Okpebholo’s attack against the opposition follows several condemnation of some of the activities of the governor in the state since his assumption of duty.

Continuing, Itua said, “Their latest antics, rather than winning them public sympathy, only reinforce the obvious: Edo PDP is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), gasping for air, and rather than battling for survival, its leaders are wasting their dwindling oxygen on unproductive tantrums.

“PDP is not just a sick party on life support, it is also a party suffering from terminal political irrelevance. The faction-ridden and scandal-infested remnants of what was once a ruling party has now been reduced to a collection of desperate voices clinging to lies, propaganda and outright misinformation, in a last-ditch effort to remain in public discourse.”
