The governor stated that this restructuring is a strategic move aimed at realigning his administration for “optimum performance” and delivering “greater dividends of democracy” to the people of Kano State.
According to Governor Yusuf, the decision was driven by the desire to enhance administrative efficiency and establish a pragmatic political realignment that prioritises the needs of Kano residents.
This reshuffle marks the first major overhaul of the cabinet since its formation in May 2023.

The Governor has instructed these former officials, along with the ex-Chief of Staff, to report to his office for potential reassignment.
In a statement to reporters, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa clarified that the reshuffle underscores the Governor’s commitment to enhancing governance.
“This reshuffle reflects His Excellency’s determination to ensure his team is prepared to meet the aspirations of the people of Kano. Some members have been reassigned to areas where their expertise is most needed,” he said.
