BREAKING: Delta Command Vows To Punish Officers In Viral Video

The Delta State Police Command has identified the officers captured in a viral video allegedly assaulting a civilian in the Agbor area of the state.

The video, captured by an eyewitness and shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user, @ChuksEricE, showed no fewer than five officers at the scene.

The footage captured the officers violently forcing the victim into a police patrol van. When he resisted, the officer battered him from different angles.

While one officer held his T-shirt from behind, another did the same in front.

The young man was heard in vernacular saying, “I am going to church. I am not holding anything… I am respecting you all…”

The more he resisted the officers, the more he was beaten and manhandled.

Reacting to the footage on Sunday via his X handle, the spokesperson of the Delta Police Command, Bright Edafe, revealed that the officers have been identified.

“The men have been identified, and the CP has summoned them to headquarters. Gone are those days when brutality and incivility go unchecked.

“Those who assaulted him will be used as an example, as directed by the CP. Kindly provide me with the victim’s contact, pls,” the post read.
