After Counting Of Votes, A Dark Cloud Engulfed The Nation – Labour Party Says Ahead Of Inauguration

The Labour Party has stated that a dark cloud engulfed the nation after the counting of the 2023 presidential election votes.

The was made known by the Labour Party national chairman, Julius Abure in a statement released to the public ahead of the swearing-in of the winner of the recently-conducted presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. 

Recall that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju defeated other strong contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party to clinch the apex political seat in the country. He will be sworn in on the 29th of May, 2023 at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are currently challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja. The presidential election Tribunal commenced sitting two weeks ago to hear the cases by the parties. Reacting, Julius Abure said; “after counting of votes, a dark cloud engulfed the Nation. It became clear that the correct password, to transmit the Presidential Election results, electronically and instantly, from the BVAS to the INEC IREV, had been criminally withheld, contrary to specifications of the law and contrary to repeated emphasis, directives and promises to the Nation and its citizens, by Professor Mahmood Yakubu and INEC officials.”
