After Donating 3 Million Naira To A Youth Program In Owerri Yesterday, Peter Obi Reacts (Photo)

The Labour Party’s nominee for president in the 2016 general election, Peter Obi, has commented on reports that he donated N3 million to a youth program in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Peter Obi tweeted, “Yesterday in Owerri, I had a very fruitful and engaging interaction with about a thousand youths where we exchanged ideas on entrepreneurship, leadership, and business management in an event tagged Owerri Business Week.”

“I was pleased by their drive to succeed and their eagerness to start and contribute to societal improvements,” the former governor of the Anambra state stated. We have given up on entrepreneurship and small businesses because of our low productivity, despite the fact that they have been proven to be growth accelerators in numerous comparable economies around the world.

The Labour Party presidential candidate continued, “But I encouraged the youth to be committed and steadfast in being entrepreneurial and growing their small businesses and to maintain their dedication to our national productivity for growth and development. If Nigeria is to realize the New Nigeria, which would be based on moving the nation’s economy from consumption to production, governments must actively encourage and support entrepreneurship and small businesses.

I made a symbolic $3 million Naira donation to the program, he declared. I appreciate all the program’s organizers and all of the mentors for the students did. I’m grateful for what they’ve managed to accomplish so far.

A vigorous debate among Peter Obi’s devoted fans and followers has been started by a recent comment he made on his verified Twitter page.
