Aisha Yesufu Says Sorry to Adamolekun After ADC Appointment ‘Mix-Up’ Sparks Outrage

Prominent activist cum African Democratic Congress member, Aisha Yesufu, has tendered a public apology to the former Executive Director of Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE), Yemi Adamolekun, over the inclusion in the party’s Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee without her consent.

Naija News recalls that the ADC on Wednesday unveiled a 50-member policy and manifesto committee, following approval by its National Working Committee and the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark.

According to the party, the committee is tasked with articulating a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that reflects Nigerians’ aspirations and positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.

Tagging both Yesufu and the ADC spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, Adamolekun, in a post shared on , questioned the inclusion of her name without her consent.

The activist stated that such action is not a way to build credibility, adding that she is not a member of the ADC.

Responding to the complaint, Abdullahi said membership of the committee was not restricted to party members or politicians.

He maintained that the party had undergone a vetting process and had taken all necessary measures to ensure that everyone recommended for service on the committee was duly notified and had given their consent.

Reacting to the development, Yesufu, a member of the party’s Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration Committee, in a post on her handle on Friday, apologised for the mix-up.

Yesufu also extended her apologies to other individuals who may have been listed on the 50-member panel without prior notification.

She wrote, “Dear Yemi Adamolekun @_yemia This is inexcusable and on behalf of my party, accept my apologies for this mix up. We do not take you and your need to have a better Nigeria for granted.

“Like you rightly pointed out, you ought to have been informed and your consent gotten before your name is published. This is well noted and going forward we will continue to ensure due diligence.

“Thank you for calling our attention to this. We can only get better when we get such feedback and improve accordingly. The work to rebuilding Nigeria is enormous and in our eagerness to start off we must never forget due process and diligence.

“For anyone that was also not contacted and consent gotten before publication, kindly accept my apologies for the mix up.”
