Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has received a crucial endorsement from the Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP).
At the Pensioners’ Day celebration in Akure, the NUP directed its 28,000 members to vote for Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming governorship election, highlighting his commitment to the welfare of pensioners.
NUP Chairman Comrade Johnson Osunyemi praised Aiyedatiwa’s administration for its support, stating, “We are satisfied that Aiyedatiwa stopped part payment of our pension and restored full payment of our monthly pensions.”
He noted that the governor had also made progress in addressing the backlog of gratuities, which has been systematically reduced since he took office.
Osunyemi further expressed the union’s gratitude, saying, “We wish to use today’s celebration not only to celebrate your empathetic and compassionate dispositions to us alone but also to affirm that you are our anointed candidate.”
He encouraged all pensioners and their families to mobilise and vote for Aiyedatiwa, asserting the governor’s strong connection to the pensioner community.
This endorsement comes as Aiyedatiwa prepares for the governorship election scheduled for next month, and it may prove pivotal in consolidating support among a significant voting demographic in Ondo State.
