Ajaero said. “They Beat Me; God Must Have Taken Extra Time to Create Me With The Kind of Beating I Received

Following an attack on the NLC President by suspected hired thugs during a rally protest in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Joe Ajaero, the NLC President, has revealed that he was ruthlessly beaten, pointing out that God must have taken extra time to create him with the kind of beating he received.

In a video posted by AIT, Ajaero criticised a legal decision related to an interim order shown to him during the protest. He mentions that interim orders should expire within a certain period, and if a fresh interim order is needed, it should be issued. He suggests that there might be a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the legal situation. He expressed frustration that the information was not effectively conveyed to those involved, as they didn’t seem to understand the intricacies of the legal process.

According to him, “There, I’ll meet the wife of my cousin; I think she’s one of the directors there. So I said, if you say, extend the interim order, I said interim order elapses with time. If they had issued a fresh interim order, it’s a different thing, do you understand? I said, See what you’re reading; you don’t read this thing to where some of us are. They don’t extend an interim order; it expires within one week or two. He should have issued another order—ex parte. So they kept that letter; they kept that thing they posted to them. They said, Do I know that this thing, they can prosecute me? I said, well, it is the same court that granted this order that can institute a contempt charge. You can’t just start prosecuting me. My brother beat me. God must have taken extra time to create me ordinarily with the kind of beating (I received).”
