Akeredolu said what Yar’Adua was doing was illegal and asked him to resign; now is his turn -According to Sowore

Former AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has commented on the political unrest in Ondo State in the wake of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s health problems.

During an interview with Arise TV, Sowore alleged that late President Umaru Yar’Adua was brain-dead for five months and was running the country through proxy. He said Governor Akeredolu, who was the chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association at the time of Yar’Adua’s presidency, criticized Yar’Adua’s actions, considering them illegal, and called for his resignation. He said Akeredolu, now in a similar position to Yar’Adua, wants to hold onto his position as the governor of Ondo State.

In Sowore’s words: “Don’t forget that there was a president in this country, Umar Yar’Adua who was brain dead for 5 months and he was running this country by proxy until the people rose and said enough is enough and today, they are repeating the same thing in Ondo State. Interestingly, Akeredolu was the chairman of Nigerian Bar Association at that time, he said what Yar’Adua was doing was illegal and asked him to resign and now is his turn. He wants to go to his grave with Ondo State governorship which is impossible”.
