Popular Yoruba actor, Akin Olaiya, has announced the end of his marriage to his wife, Nafeesat Feenah Hammed, less than a year after their wedding.
Naija News reports that the actor disclosed the development in a formal statement, saying the decision followed failed attempts to resolve their differences.
Olaiya said he and Nafeesat got married on June 29, 2025, at the Central Mosque, Sabo, Mokola, Ibadan, in the presence of family members and loved ones.
According to him, the crisis began shortly after the wedding when they were scheduled to attend an event in Lagos.
The actor claimed that his wife later informed him that she was no longer interested in attending the event.
He alleged that before he returned home that day, Nafeesat had packed her belongings and left their matrimonial home without prior communication.
Olaiya Speak On Reconciliation Move
Olaiya said he made several efforts to save the marriage, including reaching out to his wife and meeting members of her family.
He, however, stated that the reconciliation attempts were unsuccessful as Nafeesat allegedly refused to return or continue the relationship.
In his dissolution notice, the actor declared that the marriage had ended and that Nafeesat was no longer his wife.
