Largest Green Anaconda Found Dead: Posing a million questions on humanity and its treatment towards mother nature and the animal kingdom, an incident relating to the killing of the ‘largest discovered’ green anaconda recently made headlines and left the internet outraged.
The 26-foot long giant named Ana Julia, was found dead near a river in Brazil’s Amazon. The snake was discovered some weeks ago when a video of a Dutch researcher taking a swim with the scaled beauty went viral. Speculations of it being shot dead by hunters further left people triggered. An investigation over the reptile’s death is going on.
Taking to social media, the said researcher, Dr Freek Vonk, shared the sad news. Although, as per his post, there is no official confirmation of the cause of the snake’s death as of now. The snake was part of the groundbreaking discovery that was made during the filming of National Geographic’s ‘Pole to Pole with Will Smith’, which streamed on Disney+. As per it, scientists ended up dividing the green anaconda species into Northern and Southern, where the Northern was the new one with larger size.
As soon as the news broke on social media, people were quick to react as they were surely not happy. The post was shared on the social media platform Instagram, on the researcher’s official handle ‘freekvonk’. The post read, “BREAKING: With enormous pain in my heart I want to let you know that the mighty big green anaconda I swam with was found dead in the river this weekend… I’ve heard from several sides that she was shot to death, though there’s no official confirmation on the cause of death yet.”

The post went viral after being shared. Most people were irked over the sad news, while the rest chastised the behaviour that was displayed in the killing of the giant. Many also questioned humanity itself. The post was shared two days ago and received 34K likes from netizens.

Taking to the comment box, people shared their views. “Some people called her ‘beast’, but there is only one beast, and that is the one who did this to her… With this kind of useless animalistic behavior you don’t want to have anything to do with even as a top predator,” a user said. “How stupidly sad… Humanity is not okay… terrible,” added a second person.
“Jesus what a sick world we live in.. deeply sad,” commented a third netizen. “Unfortunately like most wild animals. Often people think it’s great to make some kind of medal or something out of it to be able to show off this. Take a look at what kind of animals are being shot: bears, giraffes, elephants, wolves, and moose. Everything is shot as if they don’t have the right to live and we do. The entire planet is being destroyed by humans, unfortunately,” wrote a fourth person.
