APC Governors Forum Blasts Kidnapping of Kebbi Students, Urges Security Response
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors’ Forum has condemned the abduction of 25 schoolgirls from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Kebbi State.
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State made the condemnation on behalf of the Forum when he led a delegation of APC governors on a condolence visit to the Kebbi State Government.
“We are here on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commiserate with the government and people of Kebbi State over the unfortunate kidnapping of the 25 schoolgirls,” Namadi said.
He described the situation as a wake-up call for all Nigerians to contribute their quota to strengthening security across the country.
“What is happening is disheartening. Incidents we once heard about in distant countries are now happening close to home,” he added.
Governor Namadi also assured of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that the abducted girls are rescued safely and reunited with their families.
He noted that security agencies have already been directed to take all necessary measures to secure the victims’ release.
