The All Progressives Congress, APC, suffered a setback in its Lagos State chapter of Wednesday after about 1,000 of its members in Lagos Mainland local government area dumped the party for the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.
Led by Nurudeen Dauda, the defectors cited lack of internal democracy in the ruling party, lack of transparency in the state APC as part of the reasons for dumping the party.
The people that decamped, who are from Ward J, Iwaya Area of the LGA, were received into the party at Lagos Mainland Secretariat of the party in Alagomeji, Yaba by Dr. Adetokunboh Pearse and the PDP chairman in the local government Mr. Malomo Adelabi.
Daudu, who was aide to Hon. Olanrewaju Oshun, member representing Lagos Mainland II in the state Assembly, said more APC loyalists would soon join the PDP in batches.
