As a tanker explosion rocks Ibadan, the FRSC provides details.

Barely 48 hours after a tanker explosion rocked Jigawa state and killed over 90 people, another incident has been reported in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state.

Confirming the incident, the Federal Road Safety Corps said no life was lost in the tanker explosion that hit the Ibafo axis of the Lagos -Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.

According to the corps, the incident happened at about 1:00 am.

The spokesperson for the FRSC, Florence Okpe IIJ a statement issued in Abeokuta noted that the tanker involved was loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Okro said the Tyre of the tanker busted, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

This led to the spilling of the vehicle content on the surface of the road.

She said, “The fire service was contacted immediately but before their arrival, the tanker had exploded. Five vehicles were burnt in the incident.

While three men were said to have been injured in the accident, no casualty was recorded for the incident.

She added that victims with various injuries from the incident have been taken to Real Divine Hospital, Ibafo and General Hospital in Sagamu for medical attention.
