ASUU, FG, AGF, Others May Suffer As Student’s Lawyer Pursues Justice Over Prolonged Strike

An application for an injunction to stop the functioning of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) until the ASUU strike is finished has been made by Soohemba Aker, a student at the University of Abuja.

Meanwhile, Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, attributed the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities strike to ” saboteurs” in the Buhari administration.

Soohemba Aker, a student at the University of Abuja, has filed a petition with the Federal High Court in Abuja asking for an injunction to halt the work of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) until the ASUU strike is over.

According to the Daily Post, a law student in his final year at Benue State University has also filed a similar motion to halt the Federal Account Allocation Committee FAAC’ s operations.

In this case, the defendants are the Federal Government, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), and the Minister of Justice.

Umar Faruk (President, National Association of Nigerian Students), RMAFC, FAAC, and the Attorneys General of all 36 states, as well as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja and the Governor of Abia, are the respondent.
