Babatunde Fashola: The South East Cannot Dispute President Buhari’s Legacy Of Progress In Their Area

Babatunde Fashola, the former governor of Lagos State, and the minister of works and housing, expressed scepticism about how well-received the President, and his administration are in the South East.

Remember that, the long-awaited 2nd Niger Bridge was recently unveiled, by the South East Governors. It’s interesting that, they chose the name President Muhammadu Buhari, who will be leaving office in a few days. With this action, the departing President is to be recognised, for his alleged contributions.

He continued, I sometimes think that, this ministry is a very tough place to self-assess, but I believe that, the feedback we receive from those we serve, clearly indicates that, things have transitioned for the better, from where we started. For instance, the South East cannot dispute Buhari’s legacy of progress in their area.

If Tinubu is not inaugurated as president on May 29, according to Babatunde Fashola, “The North will occupy this country.” The input we get from the people we serve, in my opinion, clearly encourages us and shows that, things have changed for the better, from where we started.

Fashola continued that, the beneficial changes President Buhari, and his administration had brought in the South East, could not be disputed. Drawing on feedback from a variety of sources, he emphasised that, the departing administration, had achieved laudable strides in infrastructure.

He concluded, A survey that showed a significant reduction in trip time, showing an improvement in transportation efficiency, was also emphasised by him. Roadway commute times have decreased. A 55% average reduction in travel time has been found, according to the report.
