Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential aide, responds to the burning of Chinedu and Omama in Anambra State

In response to the burning deaths of Chinedu and Omuma in Anambra State by thoughtless mobs, Mr. Bashir Ahmad, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former presidential aide, has spoken out.

“Watching the barbaric video of the burning to death of these two individuals, Chinedu and Omama, who were allegedly involved in illegal revenue collection was so traumatic,” expressed Bashir Ahmad’s reaction. He continued by stating that it was a violent act that contravened the rules of justice and the law. He also offered consolation to the tragedy’s impacted families.

Furthermore, he noted that “while it is important to address issue of illegal revenue collection and ensure compliance with the law, it is also essential to uphold humanity and due process.”

Mr Bashir Ahmad made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle, while reacting to the killing of these two individuals in Anambra State. He further noted that vigilantism and taking law into one’s hands should never be encouraged or tolerated in the country.
