All Progressive Congress member and former president Muhammadu Buhari’s adviser Bashir Ahmad responded to CAF’s announcement of Nigerian and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the African Best Player of the Year using Yoruba language.
Osimhen was named the 2023 African Footballer of the Year, according to CHANNELS TV, in a historic ceremony that cemented his place among the world’s greatest players. The report went on to say that the Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi were no match for the Nigerian striker.
However, after Osimhen was pronounced winner of the prestigious award, CAF made a post on its verified Twitter page in Yoruba which resulted in several comments from many Nigerians.
In a post that Bashir Ahmad made on his Twitter page, he interpreted CAF’s statement into English Language.
He wrote on his page, “I told them” in Burna Boy’s voice.
