According to DAILY SUN, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has once again denounced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, saying that they could impede the nation’s advancement. At a meeting with Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the head of Omega Fire Ministries International, at Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday, he voiced his worries.
The governor clarified that his criticisms were not personal.
He underlined his respect for President Tinubu as a leader but felt it was necessary to point out areas of concern in the administration.
Governor Mohammed argued that some of the president’s advisers were not competent and that the administration lacked a clear vision for the country.
He shared his disappointment, explaining that he initially had high hopes for Tinubu’s leadership based on his achievements as Lagos State governor.
He said the policies being implemented seemed to divide the nation rather than unite it.
He stressed the importance of treating Nigerians as citizens with rights and dignity, rather than as customers.
The governor also criticized the government’s approach to reforms, particularly in the area of taxation.
While he acknowledged the need for reforms, he said they should be designed to benefit all Nigerians and not appear rushed or poorly planned.
He called on the federal government to prioritize unity and inclusivity, urging them to consider the diverse needs of the nation.
He warned that the current approach could lead to negative consequences and hamper national progress.
Governor Mohammed concluded by stating that he spoke out of a sense of responsibility as a leader who wants the best for Nigeria and urged the president and his team to adopt a more strategic and inclusive approach to governance.
“Someone must rise to the occasion to tell him the truth. Tinubu entered governance ill-prepared, without an agenda, without a manifesto. We believed so much in him because of his pedigree and antecedent as a Lagos governor who was able to work magic.”
“Tinubu’s policies don’t have a clear vision and are taking us down the road to perdition and destruction. That is why when I talked about the tax reforms, it is not because I don’t want reform, but I want reform that will have a national impact on us. I don’t have anything against the president but respect,” he said.
