Bayelsa Launches Commercial Flights With Acquisition Of Two Aircraft For Routes Between Yenagoa, Lagos, And Abuja

Bayelsa State has acquired two aircraft to kick-start commercial flight operations at the Bayelsa International Airport, Governor Douye Diri announced on Tuesday.
The governor made the disclosure during a courtesy visit by the Prime Minister of the State of Africa in Diaspora, Dr Tin Louise-George, at the Government House in Yenagoa.
Diri said the move underscores his administration’s commitment to making the state’s airport more commercially viable and self-sustaining. He noted that the newly acquired aircraft would soon arrive in the state and are expected to operate the Yenagoa, Lagos and Abuja routes.
the governor also said that the state government welcomes partnerships to further expand the airport and develop a smart city around it.
Earlier, Dr Tin Louise-George expressed interest in supporting the state’s development agenda through cooperation in aviation, smart city development, education, and healthcare.
He said his visit to Bayelsa aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and funding for selected projects that would enhance growth and connectivity in the state.
