Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, lacks the capacity to fix insecurity in Nigeria.
Oshiomole, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this claim on Sunday while speaking at the APC youth summit in Abuja.
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, in a recent interview with CNN had said Nigeria is on the verge of collapse, and that if elected, he would address insecurity and challenges affecting the economy.
Oshiomole, however, stresses that Obi had failed to fix insecurity in Anambra State while he was Governor and therefore he lacks the capacity to fix insecurity nationwide.
How Can Obi Fix Nigeria?
Oshiomhole spoke on Obi’s ability to tackle insecurity in Nigeria when he couldn’t do that while he was in the corridor of power.
Oshiomole asked, “Who was the Governor when Bakassi developed in Anambra State? Who solved the problem? If a man could not fix the security challenges in Anambra State, which requires courage, how can he convince you that he will fix security all over Nigeria?”
