Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole has been criticized by the Labour Party for saying that the party’ s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, did not do anything to address insecurity while he was governor of Anambra State.
Oshiomhole who spoke during a speech at the youth convention of the ruling APC at the International Conference Centre in Abuja claimed that Obi’ s successor in Anambra, Willie Obiano, demolished the kidnappers and Bakassi boy’ s homes immediately after he took power.
He also claimed that the Bakassi boys first started during Peter Obi’ s presidency, but Obi do nothing to stop them.
Since Obi had failed to guarantee the security of his state as governor, Oshiomhole questioned how he could help solve the problems facing the country.
Meanwhile, Arabambi Abayomi, the Labour Party’ s national publicity secretary, responded to Oshiomhole’ s criticism of Peter Obi’ s leadership in an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, saying that Oshiomhole should be ashamed of himself for trying to use insecurity as a measure for Obi’ s performance.
He said, ” I’ m aware that Oshimohole was governor of Edo State, for two terms. He was part of those who connived to foist this reckless government of propagandists on Nigerians using deceit and scare- mongering in 2015.
