BRAKING: Two Security operatives arrested for helping terrorists in Northeast

The Nigerian Military on Friday announced that it arrested two security operatives over their involvement with some members of terrorist groups operating in the Northeast region of the country.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye in a statement said the troops arrested four suspected terrorist collaborators which included two personnel from the hybrid forces.

He said the arrested personnel had been working along with other troops to fight terrorism in the Northeast region.

Kangy said the suspects were arrested in an operation which took place between April 26 and 29 across Bama, Kukawa, and Madagali Local Government Areas of Borno State.

According to him, two out of the four suspects were identified as hybrid force operatives.

While stating that such discovery is a betrayal of the sovereignty of Nigeria which they have sworn to defend, Kangy urged troops of the Nigerian military to desist from acts that could jeopardize the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.

He also called on commanders of various battalions to caution their troops and sensitise them on the consequences of actions that sabotage military efforts.

“In a well-coordinated operation conducted from 26 – 29 April 2025 in Bama, Kukawa and Madagali Local of Borno and Adamawa States, troops intercepted 4 terrorists’ logistics suppliers.

Sadly, two of them were confirmed to be members of hybrid forces. Commanders are to, therefore, sensitise hybrid forces personnel to desist from colluding with or encouraging terrorists’ acts capable of sabotaging their own operations, “Kangye said.
