BREAKING: 2025 Budget: Military optimistic about budget defence to address insecurity

The military high command has expressed optimism that the 2025 budget defence will result in substantial funding to support its efforts against terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges affecting the country.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, shared this expectation during a regimental dinner night held in Abuja on Monday. The event was part of activities marking the 2025 Armed Forces Day, which honours the nation’s military heroes and fallen soldiers.

Musa emphasised the need for increased funding to sustain the military’s ongoing efforts to secure peace and stability across all regions of the country.

“We are optimistic as we approach the budget defence. We expect a bountiful harvest from the National Assembly to support our fight against insecurity,” Musa stated.

He also paid tribute to the courage and resilience of the nation’s troops, acknowledging the sacrifices made by fallen soldiers and their families.
