BREAKING: 4 Dead In Gombe-Yola Road Crash – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of four people in a crash on the Gombe-Yola Road in Gombe State.

The State FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Samson Kaura, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday, stating that the accident occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

He noted that the crash involved a truck and a car, with six people on board.

Kaura said that while four persons lost their lives, two others survived without injuries.

He said that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary at Specialist Hospital, Gombe, while the vehicles have been moved to a police station for further investigation.

According to the FRSC, the crash was caused by dangerous overtaking by one of the vehicles involved.

He urged motorists to exercise caution while driving, particularly when attempting to overtake.

“My call to the drivers is that they should not overtake when and where they cannot see or be seen,” Kaura cautioned.

He also advised against nighttime travel due to the increased risks associated with it.

“If you must travel, kindly put your vehicle in good shape and ensure a good lighting system. You should also adhere to traffic rules,” he added.

The FRSC further advocated for safer driving habits to reduce road accidents in Gombe State and across Nigeria.
