Manchester United are set for another rebuild after the exit of Erik ten Hag and the appointment of Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese has coached the team for six games, and it is clear he will need a few windows to build his own team.
Several players, like Antony and Casemiro, are expected to be sold as the coach tries to bring in players who suit his style.
Under Erik ten Hagm, Man United made some questionable signings, leaving the incoming manager with more work.
Amorim has rotated his squad in his first few games as he tries to find the best starting eleven. The Red Devils will be looking to sell some of their players to raise funds to rebuild the squad.
Players like Amad Diallo, Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, Lisando Martinez, and Kobbie Mainoo are seen as important.
7 players who could leave Man United
Antony
The Brazil winger remains the club’s second-most expensive player. Erik ten Hag bought him in 2022, and after a decent start, he regressed drastically and never bounced back. The former Ajax star has struggled to get into the team this season, and it is clear he is surplus to requirements. The club will have to take a loss to move Antony in the summer, per The Mirror.
Casemiro
The former Real Madrid star is in his third season at Man United. He was influential in the first season (2022/23) but has struggled since. The midfielder is reportedly on a £350,000-a-week, meaning selling will be essential to maintaining a healthy wage bill.
Harry Maguire
The defender has spent six seasons at Old Trafford but has fallen out of favour in the last few years and even lost his England spot. He is the second-most expensive defender in history, and the club will find buyers for the England star, who is still in his prime.
His deal expires at the end of the season, but the club has an option to extend it for a year.
Marcus Rashford
Earlier this week, reports in England indicated that Man United are ready to sell Rashford, who has struggled in the last two seasons. The club is open to selling the academy product in January due to constant off-pitch issues, per Manchester Evening News. He has been poor under Amorim and has received intense criticism since last season.
Victor Lindelof
The Sweden captain has been in and out of the team mainly due to injuries. Jose Mourinho signed him in 2017, and although he’s had his moment, he has never been seen as a long-term solution. His contract ends next summer, and he will likely leave as a free agent.
Luke Shaw
Shaw joined the Red Devils in 2014, but his career has been marred by injuries. He has played 98 minutes this season and recently suffered a setback in his recovery. He has shown that he can be the best left back in the world when fit, but the club will be looking for a reliable and durable.
It appears the club is looking to find a long-term replacement, with 17-year-old Diego Leon set to arrive from Paraguay, per BBC Sport.
Tyrell Malacia
Malacia is another left-back who has struggled with injuries. He recently returned to action after 17 months out with injury. He was the first signing Erik ten Hag made and will likely leave in the summer.
Christian Eriksen, Tom Heaton, and Jonny Evans could also depart.
Man United player’s complaint against Amorim
Legit earlier reported that some Manchester United players are already getting fed up with Reuben Amorim’s tactics, which are barely a few weeks into his time in charge of the Old Trafford club.
One player has reportedly filed a complaint against the Portuguese manager for his frequent change in tactics during games.
