Granny and granddaughter shed tears after receiving the admission letter.

Judith Achieng, a 75-year-old widow from Kisumu County , was on the verge of giving up on her granddaughter’s education when help came in the nick of time.

Assistance came through social media influencer Kelly Ken Rodgers Odinga, who rallied his followers to turn the sadness into joy.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke , Kelly disclosed that 14-year-old Dorcus Atieno Odhiambo always dreamt of joining St. Barnabas Girls High School in Kombewa.

The young girl scored 342 marks in her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education but lacked the financial means to further her education.
Judith, who is in charge of the teen, makes a living as a farmer; therefore, she struggles to make ends meet.

Moved by their plight, Kelly shared Dorcus’s story on his Facebook page, and the response from his followers was overwhelming.

Several generous followers offered to pay Dorcus’s school fees for the entire year; another cross-section provided her with essential items, while others arranged for her transport to school.

On the other hand, Judith couldn’t find the correct words to express her gratitude, so she broke down.

Grandma and her granddaughter thanked the kind-hearted individuals who showed them love and compassion in their time of need.
