BREAKING: Abia Lawmaker Congratulates Colleague For Leaving PDP

The Lawmaker representing the Ohafia South state Constituency in the Abia State House Of Assembly, Hon. Kalu Mba has congratulated his colleague, Hon. Lucky Johnson, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) to Labour Party (LP).

He disclosed this during an exclusive interview with THE WHISTLER on Friday.

“It’s a good omen, and it shows the sagacity and good intention of my honourable colleague, Lucky Johnson.

“He has seen the good things happening in Abia, and he wants to be fully a part of it. I congratulate him,” he said.

He attributed the Labour Party’s growing popularity to its commitment to rendering good service to the people of Abia State.

“Everybody that has good intentions for his people will always align him or herself to where good things are happening,” he noted.

The defection is also seen as a boost to the governor’s leadership, who has been praised for his listening and responsive governance style, noting the Governor’s promise to revisit issues of the pensioners,

“If you have been following this issue of pensioners closely, you will know that those that represented the pensioners union were selfish according to the Governor.

“They weren’t actually representing the overall interest of their members. So the thing then was done haphazardly.

“But now that genuine concern has been raised by the members, our governor being a true and listening governor, has decided to give it a second look and to address those complaints that the true members have raised and he doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned, ” Kalu said.

When asked about his chances of re-election in 2027, Kalu expressed confidence, saying “Any time, any day, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the night, I still have the support of Ohafia South State constituency.”
