The Abia State Commissioner of Police CP Danladi Isa has cautioned officers against abuse of power, unlawful detention of suspects, and charging cases to court without thorough investigation.
CP Isa gave the charge during this year’s commemoration of the National Police Day celebration held at the Command’s Officer’s mess, Umuahia on Thursday.
He urged officers to uphold the highest standards of service, reflecting the evolving modern Nigeria Police Force of international standards.
The Police boss also encouraged routine stakeholders engagement, educating members of the public against the rising cases of mob action.
CP Isa re-emphasized the need for thoroughness in stop-and-search operations, and urged officers to ensure professionalism, respect for human rights, and strict adherence to due process.
The CP also used the occasion to honor the two recently retired officers of the Command ACP Uduak Isaac and ACP Afokwalam Gabriel Nneji for their meritorious service to their father land.
