Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation and one of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has discussed the 1966 coup that killed numerous political and military leaders in Nigeria on his official X account. The former minister of aviation claimed that 98% of the individuals who planned and carried out the coup were members of a specific ethnic community in Nigeria in a post he posted on his FB page on Wednesday.
Femi Fani-Kayode stated that after the failure of the coup, many of the people who plotted and led it were arrested and detained.
He, however, proceeded to list the names of the people who were involved.
According to Femi Fani-Kayode on his official X account;
“This was the first coup in the history of our country and 98 percent of the officers that planned and led it were from a particular ethnic nationality in the country”.
