BREAKING: Adeleke, Oluwo congratulate Brig-Gen. Kunle Nafiu on NYSC DG appointment

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle on his appointment as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by President Bola Tinubu.

Describing Brigadier-General Olakunle as a disciplined and accomplished professional, Governor Adeleke stated that his appointment to lead one of Nigeria’s key national institutions is a recognition of his distinguished military career.

In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke expressed confidence in Olakunle’s ability to fulfil the NYSC’s mandate by instilling national values in young people and preparing them for future responsibilities. He noted that Olakunle’s track record in the military assures that he will excel in his new role.

“I am extremely delighted to learn of Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle’s appointment as the Director-General of the NYSC. This appointment reaffirms confidence in his capabilities, and I appreciate Mr. President for entrusting one of Osun’s finest citizens with such a critical role,” Adeleke said in his congratulatory message.

The governor also commended President Tinubu for providing yet another Osun indigene with the opportunity to contribute to national development. He urged Brigadier-General Olakunle to use the appointment to further elevate the state’s profile by ensuring the NYSC achieves its objectives.

He wished the new NYSC chief a successful tenure, expressing hope that his leadership would propel the organisation forward and bring pride to Osun State.

Meanwhile, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, TELU I, has also lauded President Tinubu for appointing Brigadier-General Olakunle, a native of Iwoland, as NYSC Director-General.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, the monarch described the appointment as a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework and fostering national unity.

“The appointment will be positively felt through his administrative expertise. Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu has established himself as a symbol of positive change. His experience will significantly enhance the scheme, making it a model for others,” the statement read.

Expressing his joy over the appointment, the Oluwo said, “Brigadier-General Kunle Nafiu’s new role places him in the position of a father to Nigerian youths. It is a task that demands wisdom, which I am confident he will receive abundantly from Almighty God.”

The monarch prayed for divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for the new NYSC Director-General, urging him to steer the scheme toward remarkable achievements.
