BREAKING: Ahmed Usman Ododo sworn in as Kogi governor.

Ahmed Usman Ododo has been sworn in as the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State, according to the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Josiah Majebi. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, with Ododo and his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, taking their oaths of office and allegiance.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, witnessed the event. Ododo, in his inaugural speech, praised his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for providing him the opportunity to lead the state. He pledged to make Kogi State a hub for economic growth, aligning with President Tinubu’s economic policies.

Ododo emphasized a new era of governance without bitter politics, urging unity, cooperation, and hard choices for the state’s progress. He promised to govern with fairness, equity, and justice, emphasizing transparency and accountability. Ododo also highlighted plans for inclusive governance, power rotation, and a focus on completing ongoing projects.

Expressing optimism for a better Kogi State, Ododo acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, including former Gov. Bello, former Gov. Idris Wada, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, late Prince Abubakar Audu, and praised President Tinubu for fostering peace and unity in the state, both before and after the governorship election.
