Nigerian striker Akor Adams is poised to finalize his transfer to Spanish club Sevilla from Montpellier after arriving in Spain on Saturday.
Akor Adams’ move to the Spanish La Liga club is said to be valued at €5.5 million.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on social media platform X on Friday, stating, “Akor Adams will land in Sevilla on Saturday to join the club from Montpellier for €5.5m transfer fee. Exclusive story, confirmed.”
Adams, who previously showcased his talent with the Flying Eagles, has faced challenges this season at Montpellier, contributing three goals and one assist in over a dozen appearances—a notable decrease from his debut season when he scored seven goals in the French league after transferring from Norwegian club Lillestrøm.
His arrival at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium could potentially make an impact on fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho’s playing time, as the former Leicester City striker has not featured for Los Nervionenses in over a month.
Currently, Sevilla find themselves in 11th place in La Liga, with 26 points from 20 matches, just seven points above the relegation zone, following a surprising 4-1 defeat to second-tier Almeria in the Copa del Rey. The club is optimistic that Adams can regain his goal-scoring form and contribute positively to their efforts in the upcoming months.
