The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced the commencement of enforcement against illegal dumping of refuse anywhere within the metropolis.
In a public service announcement signed by SPA to Governor Peter Mbah on Water and Waste Management, Andreas Gebauer, the enforcers will also arrest anyone throwing dirt out of a moving vehicle or tricycle.
Gebauer further warned residents to “desist immediately from dumping refuse any other place other than ESWAMA’s designated/approved waste dumps.
“Similarly, throwing of dirt out of a moving vehicle or tricycle is also an offence.”
He noted that “all offenders would be arrested and tried at the ESWAMA’s Environmental Court and prosecuted accordingly.
“Ndi Enugu, let us appreciate the developmental strides of our dear Governor by keeping our dearly beloved state clean.”
