The arrest warrant against Ezekiel Onyedikachi, the former manager of popular gospel performer Mercy Chinwo, over alleged diversion has been revoked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.
Following an ex parte order filed by the EFCC, Justice Alexander Owoeye issued a bench warrant against the music producer last week.
However, the anti-graft agency requested that the warrant against Ezekiel Onyedikachi be withdrawn at the request of its attorney, Barrister Bilikisu Buhari.
Buhari clarified that the warrant was no longer required because Ezekiel’s attorney, Monday Ubani, SAN, had previously been served with the charges in public court prompting the presiding judge to approve the bench warrant’s withdrawal.
This development comes days after the gospel singer’s manager who is the CEO of Eezee Conceptz criticised Mecry Chinwo for allegedly claiming that he embezzled the sum of $345,000.
He vehemently denied the claims brought before him in a post on Instagram claiming that Mercy Chinwo has resorted to lying and manipulation despite receiving the sum of $625,000 from his record label.
Ezekiel said that in an attempt to seize control of a catalog she didn’t purchase but has made a lot of money from, the gospel musician has turned to using law enforcement and religious institutions as weapons against him.
