A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Dr Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has urged opposition leaders to give President Bola Tinubu a chance to address Nigeria’s challenges without constant criticism.
Iliyasu Kwankwaso, who doubled as the Executive Director Finance of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), made the call while addressing newsmen in Kano on Friday.
“Instead of relentlessly criticising the President on every action he takes, Atiku, El-Rufa’i and Kwankwaso and other opposition leaders should allow the President to address the problems facing the nation.
“President Tinubu has come a long way in his efforts to fix the country; the criticisms being rained on him by the opposition are unfair and distractive, and should stop forthwith,” he said.
According to him, the Coalition of Northern Politicians to which Atiku, Kwankwaso and El-Rufa’i belong, cannot stop the APC from re-capturing power in 2027 as they lack the political influence to do so.
“Atiku, Kwankwaso and El-Rufa’i cannot stop the APC from recording another electoral victory at all levels in 2027 because they don’t have the political clout to do that.
He then commended President Tinubu for declaring a State of Emergency in Rivers State, describing the action as “a saving grace for the nation’s democracy.”
“You will agree with me that 27 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly are all APC members, nonetheless, the President still saved the state and the nation’s democracy and took the most beautiful action by declaring the State of Emergency,” he said.
