The Clerk of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Mrs. Ngozi Silverline Egbo, has warmly congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on the recent award of an honorary doctorate degree in far-off Ekiti State.
Dr. Mbah received the esteemed Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) degree from the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI) in recognition of his inspiring leadership and significant contributions to advancing quality education in Nigeria.
He was honoured during the inaugural convocation ceremony of the state-owned university in Ikere-Ekiti over the weekend.
In a statement issued to the press on Sunday night, Mrs. Egbo remarked, “This prestigious recognition is a testament to the Governor’s unwavering commitment to public service, his visionary leadership, and his considerable contributions to the development of Enugu State.” She emphasised that this honour represents not only a personal achievement for Governor Mbah but also “the collective aspirations and progress of the people of Enugu State.”
The Clerk highlighted that this accolade strongly reflects the governor’s substantial investment in education, including the allocation of over 33 percent of the state budget to educational initiatives, the construction of 260 smart schools across all 260 political wards, and the establishment of smart green technical colleges, among other projects.
Furthermore, Mrs. Egbo noted that this recognition serves as an inspiration for all leaders and citizens alike, adding that Governor Mbah’s exemplary record in office sets a benchmark for future leaders, demonstrating the profound impact of integrity, hard work, and dedication.
In conclusion, Mrs. Egbo congratulated Governor Mbah “on this well-deserved honour,” wishing him continued success as he guides Enugu State towards a brighter future.
