The Ikemba Front, a prominent support group within the APC, has officially endorsed Sir Paul Chukwuma for Governor in the lead-up to the party primary for the November 2025 Anambra gubernatorial race.
Having been courted by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the group announced its endorsement of Sir Paul Chukwuma’s bid to become Anambra State’s first APC governor on Thursday.
In a meeting convened by the group’s founder and leader, Dr. Chidi Okoye, in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, key figures including Barr. Chugbor Enwezor and local government coordinators from all twenty-one LGAs were in attendance.
The group expressed its unequivocal support for Chukwuma, highlighting that he is not only a dedicated party member but has also played a pivotal role in enhancing the APC’s appeal in Anambra State.
They noted the significant support Sir Paul Chukwuma has provided since the passing of Senator Ubah, underscoring this as a reason for the endorsement.
In recent developments, the Anambra state chapter of the APC welcomed two prominent sons of the state into the party: Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Prof. Obiora Okonkwo. Both have expressed their interest in running for governor under the party’s banner during visits to the Anambra APC State Working Committee.
Ikemba Front further acknowledged Sir Paul Chukwuma’s longstanding commitment as a foundation member of the APC, his role as the party’s national auditor, and other leadership positions he has held since the party’s inception. His genuine affinity for the group was also highlighted.
In a recent interview, Dr. Chidi Okoye reiterated that Paul Chukwuma is the best candidate the party can offer for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
He emphasised Chukwuma’s commitment to reliable, principled leadership, noting that he is well-equipped to guide Anambra State out of the current turmoil and instability that has characterised the present administration.
Dr. Okoye also added that Chukwuma would lead Anambra towards lasting prosperity, ensuring that every onye Anambra can take pride in their state.
