BREAKING: Anchor varsity plans convocation

Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos, is set to host an exciting week of activities to celebrate its fourth and fifth combined convocation ceremonies.

The festivities will culminate on Friday, January 10, 2025, with the award of first degrees and prizes to its graduating students, fondly referred to as the ‘Peculiar Pearls.’

In a statement released by the Registrar, Pastor Moses Salami, the university expressed its dedication to celebrating academic excellence and student achievement.

“This is a unique opportunity to honour our cherished graduates and celebrate their accomplishments.

“The convocation week kicks off on Sunday, January 5, 2025, with a special convocation service. Activities will continue on Monday, January 6, with a press conference to unveil the full schedule of events. A highlight of the week is the convocation lecture, slated for Thursday, January 9.

“The lecture, titled “Education, Entrepreneurship, and Empowerment: Breaking the Cycle of Youth Unemployment and Japa Syndrome,” will be delivered by the esteemed Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone, former Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.”

The statement added that other notable events included a novelty football match on Wednesday, January 8, at 4 p.m., musical and variety nights, and the Vice-Chancellor’s luncheon.

Salami also urged all graduating students to fulfill their financial and administrative responsibilities promptly to ensure seamless participation in the celebrations.
