BREAKING: APC and PDP Disagree About Governor Adeleke’s Osun State Security Alert

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) could not agree over hoodlums’ purported plans to assault schools and farm settlements in the state, which Governor Ademola Adeleke reported as a security concern.

A security council meeting was called to discuss Adeleke’s concerns about possible kidnappings and attacks after she cited intelligence findings, according to Daily Post.

The APC, represented by state chairman Tajudeen Lawal, criticized Adeleke’s alarm as a false panic, accusing him of diverting public attention from governance issues.

He emphasized the need for Adeleke to fulfill his campaign promises of quality governance rather than creating distractions. He insinuated that Adeleke’s focus on security threats might be a tactic to deflect scrutiny from controversial financial decisions.

In response, the state PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, condemned the APC’s dismissal of security concerns as insensitive and unpatriotic.

He denounced the politicization of security issues, highlighting the governor’s proactive measures, including convening a security council meeting and publicizing strategies to address the threats. He criticized the APC for prioritizing political gains over the safety and well-being of the populace.

He emphasized the PDP’s commitment to social programs aimed at uplifting the state from years of underdevelopment. He portrayed the PDP as a party focused on governance rather than engaging in petty political squabbles.
