BREAKING: APC loses party chairman in Kogi

Suleman Omika, the zonal chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi East is dead.

Omika who assumed office a few months ago replaced Nasir Agbodu as the chairman of the ruling party in Kogi East.

Sources who spoke about his demise said the party chairman was healthy as of Friday leaving his friends and political allies in shock.

Confirming the incident, Abdullahi Bello, the state’s party chairman said he was informed about Omika’s death by the deputy governor of Kogi State, Jeol Oyibo.

“Yes, it’s confirmed, the deputy governor called to inform and commiserate with me as I am currently in Lagos to commiserate with the Lagos State APC Chairman, who lost his wife,” Bello said.

A family who spoke under anonymity said Omika was just resting when he suddenly died.

“He was just resting in his compound in Lokoja when he started calling for help as he was loosing strength, he died instantly,”  the family member said.
