The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that aspirants seeking to contest its primary election for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election on November 8 will pay ₦30 million for nomination and expression of interest forms.
This was disclosed in a statement by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Ifeanyi Mbaeri, in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Mbaeri, the sale of forms will commence on Friday, February 28, and end on March 20, while the screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 28 at the APGA National Headquarters in Abuja.
The party also announced that female aspirants and physically challenged persons would receive a five per cent discount on the nomination fee.
APGA’s special state congress and governorship primary election have been slated for April 5. However, Mbaeri noted that the party leadership reserves the right to adjust the dates and schedules if necessary.
“In pursuant to its powers under Articles 12 (2) & (3)(b) and 24 of the APGA Constitution 2019 and in compliance with INEC’s schedule of activities for the Anambra State Governorship Election, the National Executive Committee of APGA, through its National Working Committee, has approved a provisional timetable for the governorship primary election,” the statement read.
