Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed admiration for the resilience displayed by the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Côte d’Ivoire.
Despite the team’s 2-1 defeat to the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the intense match on Sunday night, Atiku took to his official X handle (formerly Twitter) to acknowledge that the outcome was not in line with the expectations of Nigerians worldwide.
In his post, the former Vice President emphasized that, despite the loss and the failure to secure the AFCON trophy, the support for the Super Eagles from every Nigerian would persist.
