The financial record of the Labour Party from the previous presidential election was just made public by Aisha Yesufu, one of the campaign organizers for Obi-Datti in 2023.
On the basis of that, Mr. Bashir Ahmad, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former presidential assistant, chose to take the floor. During his speech, he praised Aisha Yesufu for her decision to make the Obi-Datti presidential campaign’s financial statement public.
He went on and noted that he went through the summary of the statement she released a couple of days ago, and that he is curious if it allowed to ask questions, noting that there are some lines within the statement that seems unclear and need clarification from her.
Mr Bashir Ahmad made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Thursday night, in relation to the financial statement that was released by Aisha Yesufu.
He wrote: “Dear @AishaYesufu,
I want to congratulate you as you graciously agreed to release the financial statement of the Obi/Datti presidential campaign. Having gone through the summary of the statement couple of days ago, I’m curious if it is allowed to ask questions, as there are certain lines within the statement that seem unclear and need clarification from you.”
It should be recalled that Aisha Yesufu has been under intense criticism for refusing to release the financial statement of the Labour Party, after assuring Nigerians that she was going to release it. But a few days ago, Aisha Yesufu decided to release the financial statement, as she had promised.
