Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has announced the passing of his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri.
Hajia died on January 1, 2025, at the age of 120.
In a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Hajia Duguri was renowned for her selfless community service, which had a profound impact on the lives of many.
Gidado described Hajia Duguri’s passing as “the end of an era defined by selflessness, piety, and unwavering dedication to community service”.
The funeral prayer (Janazah) for the late Hajia Duguri is scheduled to hold at 4:00 pm at Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Duguri family and all who knew Hajia Duguri, urging everyone to join him in praying for her soul’s repose and to honour her legacy.
“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and bestow strength upon her family to bear this profound loss,” the governor said.
