8

The Hijrah Organisation of Nigeria has called on the federal government to manage the affairs of Hajj with greater sensitivity.

The organisation’s national chairman, Professor Badmas Yusuf, made the call during an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He emphasised that Hajj should be treated as a sacred spiritual journey and not merely a tourist exercise.

The university don warned that poor planning or financial mismanagement in Hajj operations could further burden intending pilgrims and their families.

He urged the government to create more windows of opportunity and proactive engagement to address the growing security challenges across the country.

He stressed the need for leadership at all levels to work collaboratively and justly in protecting lives and property in all parts of the country.

Yusuf advised Muslims to begin preparing spiritually and morally for the new Islamic year, stressing that the Hijrah season should be a time for personal reflection, community service, and renewed commitment to Islamic values.

He posited that the ultimate solution to Nigeria’s numerous challenges lies in total submission and firm belief in Allah, urging the faithful to strengthen their trust in divine guidance and mercy.
