Hamza Suruddubu, an arms dealer who supplies weapons to the notorious bandit, Bello Turji has been arrested.
Suruddubu was said to have been arrested in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State by some security forces.
A popular security analyst and counte-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama in a post on social media said Suruddubu is well known to be Turji’s key arms supplier.
He said the arms trafficker also supplies weapons to terrorist groups operating in the region including Boka and Halilu Buzu.
Makama said: “Suruddubu, an arms dealer from Eastern Sokoto, has long been involved in the trafficking and distribution of weapons from Zamfara State to terrorist strongholds in Eastern Sokoto.
“Investigations indicate that Suruddubu not only supplies weapons but also facilitates the provision of essential supplies, including foodstuffs and motorcycles, for criminal groups operating in the region,” Makama said.
He also alleged that security forces within the area where the arms supplier operates might be complicit in the trafficking of weapons by Suruddubu.
