BREAKING: Betta Edu Resorts To Prayers Weeks After Tinubu Suspended Her, Claims Pastor Adeboye’s Prophecy

On Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu appeared in low spirits while reacting to a prophecy by the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Recall that she was suspended over suspected illegal financial transactions in January.

The scandal, which includes the approval of payment of N585.2 million into a private account of a civil servant, forced Mrs Edu under criticism from Nigerians.

In response to the public outrage, President Tinubu suspended her and directed a thorough investigation of the scam by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Weeks after her suspension, Mrs Edu, yesterday, asked God to deal with her enemies.

While responding to a prophecy by Pastor Adeboye on X, which reads: “The Lord asked me to tell someone; I will deal with your enemies head-on,” the suspended minister said ‘Amen’.

Criticisms have trailed her comment as many Nigerians tackle her.

Some said she must have to prove that she is not guilty of the allegations against her before praying to God.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had released Betta Edu on bail after hours of grilling her in respect of the approval she gave for the payment of about N585 million of the ministry’s funds into the private account of a civil servant.

EFCC had immediately summoned her to appear at its headquarters in Abuja after her suspension.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that Mrs Edu was released on bail afterwards.

Nevertheless, the presidential panel on social investment programs, led by Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has proposed the removal of intervention initiatives from the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
